Skin Tags
Skin tags are benign dark or flesh-colored growths that primarily occur around the neck line, armpits, and inner thighs. Often directly correlated with the weight of a patient, the prevention of these lesions is primarily through weight loss. They are asymptomatic except for the occasional irritation that may result from wearing necklaces, undergarments, clothes, or during shaving / physical activity. The treatment of skin tags is surgical via scissor or shave excision. The so-called "tying a string around the tag" treatment of skin tags is also a viable treatment should it be done under clean conditions.
